Tether Invests €30M in Spanish Crypto Exchange Bit2Me to Expand European and Latin American Reach
Tether, the dominant stablecoin issuer, has taken a minority stake in Bit2Me through a €30 million funding round. The Spanish exchange recently became the first MiCA-authorized crypto platform in the Spanish-speaking world, positioning it for EU-wide expansion.
The investment originates from Tether Ventures, the firm's Salvadoran investment arm known for backing diverse projects from football clubs to blockchain analytics. Bit2Me will deploy capital toward Latin American growth, particularly in Argentina where it secured regulatory approval last year.
"This partnership accelerates compliant crypto services across Europe and emerging markets," said Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino. The exchange counts Telefónica among its existing institutional backers.
